Sensational, deviant, gruesome and explicit. There’s only one trial that trumps everything we’ve ever seen before in a courtroom. One trial that delivers in every department from shock value, to controversy, to erotica, to whopper-sized manipulation. That legal circus stocked with WTF’s belongs to none other than the Jodi Arias trial.
Although Jodi takes center stage as the cold-blooded and shockingly haughty killer, in every main player in this narrative there is one characteristic that simply can’t be avoided and yes, it’s AUDACITY.
The authors have concentrated their efforts in highlighting the worst of the many audacious moments and personalities... and you’ll find the results of their analysis spans from horrifying to hilarious.
The Jodi Arias trial is a staggering display of a brazen premeditated murder. But what was the motive? Was it merely a case of an embittered girlfriend trying to have the last word, putting the final twist into the last nail in a coffin of a failed relationship? AUDACITY puts not only the most jaw dropping of Jodi's unprecedented 18 days on the stand under the microscope, the narrative also seeks to show the bloody incident as it really happened on the afternoon of June 4, in Mesa, Arizona.
In AUDACITY California's Lisa Wilson – the very same True Crime maestro who co-authored three bestselling Oscar Pistorius Trial narratives in 2014 – is back dissecting through the minutiae of the Jodi Arias case. Teaming up with South African photojournalist and bestselling True Crime detective, Nick van der Leek, both writers reveal not only fresh insights into this case, but they also uncover many disquieting similarities to the Oscar Pistorius Trial.
If you're still fascinated by the innumerable gaffes in the Jodi Arias trial, if you've been riveted by the Oscar trial, and if compelling True Crime is simply your poison, then this book is for you.

I have a rule to never review a book if I don't like it. Books are not products that malfunction or break etc. We all have different preferences with books. Some prefer details about the history of the area and/or town. Some like to know in depth information about the characters while some don't etc. You get the gist.Anyway, in my opinion, this book is the worst book I have ever read.
The author gives you information that doesn't pertain to the story. He/she talks about the weather, his cat, etc. The case is frequently compared to the Oscar Pistorious case because the authors think the cases are very similar. Not really. They also spend way too much time on the Mormon history and other religions which is unnecessary because we only need or already know the basics of Travis breaking the Mormon rules regarding sex. The authors kind of trash Travis. It's fine to point out his not so great character faults, but not to the extent they did. They even say that Travis isn't as good or great looking as everyone makes him out to be!
The facts they give you are fine, but telling the reader exactly what happened while Travis is being killed and what he is saying and what Jodi is saying and thinking during and after the murder is ludicrous! No one knows this! They continually say WTF a lot.
I regret paying for it. Even if it was free, I would not recommend this book at all.
My opinion.

AUDACITY Jodi Arias 18 Days on the Stand True Crime Worldwide Book 1 edition by Lisa Wilson Nick van der Leek Professional Technical eBooks Reviews
I enjoyed this book; it was a new perspective. I've read many books covering this hideous murder and this one is one of the better in my opinion. I could have done without the thinly veiled hostility towards "organized religion" tho; most things ARE organized, not perfect, because there are no perfect people, but everything needs organization. All in all, very much worth reading.
I read this book in a matter of a day because I didn't want to stop reading it.
I really enjoyed the book. I thought it was well written, and I loved the fact that I could click on the links throughout it and be brought to things like interrogation videos, testimony, pictures...it was all right there for you as you read. I liked how the timeline was laid out so that even someone who isn't as familiar with all of the details as I am would be able to follow along easily as it all unfolded.
I was familiar (meaning I knew what happened, and I would read headlines and news bits about it) with the Oscar Pistorius trial, but didn't follow it regularly, and this book linked and compared some of the circumstances between that trial and the Jo... (I don't want to say her name)...the Travis Alexander trial (which I have followed very closely since the beginning).
On one hand, I didn't necessarily need the Oscar trial info (only because that wasn't my reason for purchasing the book) but on the other hand, it gave me some more detail and insight into his trial since I didn't follow it the way that I have with the Travis Alexander death trial.
I will say that there were certain parts of the book that I either didn't agree with, or thought went on a little bit (but if I wanted a book that I agreed with 100%, I should have written my own, right?).
This book included all of the gory details and was also sprinkled with some sass and witty comments.
I would recommend it and would also read the next one.
There was indeed a lot of audacity coming from the convict Arias as she lied her way to save her skin. Good thing is that Lisa has a great grip on what was real in the trial and what was not. I am very glad she was able to explain away in a manner that everyone can see the true motif behind this crazy woman's killing.
I've followed this case and read pretty much all the major books so far on the case even Kurt Nurmi's! This one is by far the best one by all measures. It's well written and provides a fair and balanced psychological perspective on Travis and Jodi and never lets Jodi get off the hook for her crime. I plan on reading the rest of the coauthors series of books on this case. Good work!
This book drove me crazy. While there were some parts of it that I liked I thought the book as a whole was this author's personal view and distain for any organized religion since he mentioned it time and time again especially in the beginning. The WORST part of this book, however, was the author's constant comparison of Oscar Pistorius to Jodi Arias. These cases have NOTHING in common at all except for the fact that someone was murdered. Comparing Pistorius to Arias is tantamount to comparing an ant to a wolf. Correct IT MAKES NO SENSE. And yet the author drew constant comparisons throughout the book. The end was better than the beginning.
There are so many missed spelled words in this book that it is sometimes hard to understand what they are saying. Two this man talks about God the way Jodi talked about Travis, have whatever view you want but I don't need to know about them unless I ask! Three, a lot of what he calls facts about this case he should have researched first! Trying to say Travis was responsible for his own death because he played Jodi is ridiculous, Jodi knew exactly what was going on and many men and women do the same thing and not one of them would or should be slaughtered because of it! I only gave it a two because a few things they said were interesting
This is exactly the kind of book I was searching for about this case! This book (and the second book by the same authors entitled, "Mendacity") goes into depth, not just about the cold facts about this extraordinary story but more importantly about the limitations, inner conflicts and interconnectedness we share as human beings. This book helped me to reconcile the uncomfortable feelings I had about this case. The truth is I identified with both Travis and Jodi, as people and the situation they found themselves in. I was both disturbed and fascinated by that, and longed for answers. This book offers answers by examining the nitty-gritty psychological aspects of not only Jodi and Travis' story but also the human story, and the fact that as human beings we "don't know the world or ourselves as well as we pretend we do."
I have a rule to never review a book if I don't like it. Books are not products that malfunction or break etc. We all have different preferences with books. Some prefer details about the history of the area and/or town. Some like to know in depth information about the characters while some don't etc. You get the gist.
Anyway, in my opinion, this book is the worst book I have ever read.
